I have been wanting to scrap this photo for a while, but had no inspiration to do it... I finally gave up and went google searching... I like the end product...
And I finally got around to scrapping the Easter pictures.. (I know Easter was 2 months ago.. it happens)... So a belated Hoppy Easter to all of you...
Katie and her little friend from next door were outside playing yesterday... For once they decided to be nice and included their little brothers... So out Joey toddled to go play... It only lasted about 20 minutes, but any time when they are playing nicely is good to me...
Part of turning a year old is getting rid of the little baby car seat and moving up to a big boy car seat... Since our little man is tall for a little thing he was very happy to be able to stretch his legs again... The huge smiles and giggles were enough to tell me he likes his new big boy car seat...
My daughter is a weird one... She will randomly dress up as her version of a superhero... She has been doing this since she was about 3 years old, although then she was a Soupy Hero... She started out with a Garfield costume cap and a blanket tied around her neck as a cape... From there it progressed to using sunglasses, scarfs & hats... Her latest creation is a knock off of Dr. D's Socky Shockey Suit... which means of course that she is covered in socks.... well at least they are clean... I couldn't help but scrap this adorableness that is my Superhero daughter...
I made this video as a present for those family members who are far away and don't get to see us very often. It was a big hit and super easy to make. All you need is pictures and song choices and Windows Movie Maker does the rest. Luckily we had this pre-installed with our computer when we bought it. It is a great program to make a quick little video to make everyone smile.
Today is Wednesday... That means early dismissal for the schools... Katie also has a field trip tomorrow so no homework either... We decided to take a detour on our way home and stop by the beach. The water was still too cold for surfing or swimming, but it was a perfect sunny day for splashing in the shallows and playing in the sand... This was also Joey's first trip to the beach, he was loving running around barefoot in the sand chasing his sister...
So about a month ago Katie took pledges for the Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser.. they will be jumping on June 1st. So three times a week they go out and practice jumping during PE. I was lucky to get some nice action shots one afternoon.. that is until she saw me taking pictures and started posing... Ohh my little camera lover..
I always have so many pictures of Joey that it is hard sometimes to not spend all day long scrapping away. Here are some of the creations I have made of my little man.
As I see Quickpages or Layouts offered online there are many times that I can see the completed page in my head immediately. When I saw this QP I immediately thought of Katie as a flower girl and the page was born.
Then there are the times when a picture is just screaming out to be scrapped.. This was an accident picture and I loved it... I think the page turned out beautifully..
I love my sister and she was having a down birthday this year.. So I decided to create a little pick me up and give it to her. She loved it and almost cried. My little sister does so much for everyone else it was nice to give her something special on her special day...
Thirty.. Middle Age... A woman is supposed to dread the day she turns Thirty.. I celebrate it.. I am still looking and feeling great... Hooray for a new chapter!!
The family took a day off and decided to go to the World Famous San Diego Zoo. It had been a while since we had gone to the zoo and we were both excited and impressed to see all the new improvements and changes. This was also Joey's first experience there. Overall we had a blast and we renewed our yearly passes so I am sure this is the first of many fun trips to come this year!!
After spending some time online and researching I realized that I was using a program that was limiting my creativity and I needed to upgrade to something better. My problem? I am a cheapskate..... so enter G.I.M.P. ... GIMP is just like photoshop, but it is free. How can I go wrong with that?? After using it for about 2 months, I can't imagine scrapping without it.
With the addition of some amazing free kits I got online and I was scrapping away. If you are looking to start out in scrapbooking and don't want to shell out the big bucks for a photo program I recommend GIMP.
My children are always an inspiration for awesome scrapbooking pages. I can always get them to take cute pictures and I find myself bringing my camera everywhere now to catch those cute moments that happen on the fly...
My Little boy is turning a year old on Friday.. this is crazy.. I have done a monthly chronicle of how big he has gotten... Check out just how big this kid got in one year..
